Dr Saima Aslam is a Professor of Medicine at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) and is the Director of the Solid Organ Transplant Infectious Diseases service. She has extensive experience treating patients with phage therapy since 2017 and is the clinical lead at the Center for Innovative Phage Applications and Therapeutics (IPATH) at UCSD. She is the PI for a grant from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to develop an international registry of Burkholderia infected patients with cystic fibrosis/ lung transplant and a Burkholderia phage library. She is also the site PI for upcoming clinical trials and collaborative grants related to phage therapy.
